Hi from New Hampshire!!
We recently stayed at 4748 Van Ness.
The house was very clean upon arrival. It was great
to have a little laundry soap, paper towels... to get started with.
We asked for a heated pool and it was!! A pool guy even came by on day
2 to make sure it was working properly. Our daughter was in it constantly.
We had a problem on day (4). I went to start the rental car, dead battery!!
I had left the lights on. We called the main desk, looking for advise on a local tow company.
I was knocked over when the desk girl said she would call maintenance. 15 minutes later,
Fitch (I believe his name was), pulled up and jump started the car!! We were on our way to
the Air Boat ride in no time. Thank You all some much!! There will definitely be a return
trip to your golf resort.
PS: We just realized that the information guide with the
"do not take this" sticker on it, is sitting on our desk at home.

My first thought was when we walked in, wow what a beautiful home this is going to be great!! The home was very clean! I loved the open concept of the home, we never felt crowded. There was a lot of light coming in and you and walk right out to the back through the sliding door and go swimming in your screened in pool area! The pool was heated and ready for us and it was so nice to swim in. We saw some birds that we had never seen here before. One of them included a Red Shouldered Hawk that would land and perch on the screened in pool area, up on top. When we were out driving around the area we saw the Sand Hill Cranes there on the grounds as well as other native birds to Florida, i'm just not sure what they were.! We could watch many different channels on TV if we wanted and there were many different channels for kids as well. There is a nice sized attached garage to park your car in and it was so nice to be able to do our laundry there in the house as well. The palm trees were beautiful and the views in general. I actually wasn't ready to leave when our time was up, and I can not wait to return and stay here again!

Inverness in Citrus County north of Tampa and west of Orlando, has largely flown under the radar of many travelers. After all it is largely rural, just east of the Citrus Wildlife area and Crystal River, a jumping off point for those who love to kayak, swim with the manatees and hike and as you drive to the Van der Valk golf resort, you pass many orange groves, tall cypress trees and swamps. Also remarkable are the lakes, rivers and yes, hills that are in this part of Florida. So it is with great surprise and even excitement, to discover a community of immaculate houses and condos available for rental where three-and four-bedroom "Comfort" homes all come with large private pools, fully equipped kitchens with much more than a set of eight and a can opener and flat screen tvs and free wifi. We stayed in two homes, one a three-bedroom; the other a four. Both had a lot of extras you don't usually get with vacation rentals like two outdoor dining tables with cushioned seating for 12; comfy chaises for six and a spa that tumbled into the pool. The pool deck was larger than most we've seen and the kitchen had a huge array of up-to-date cooking appliances, utensils and serving pieces. The Dutch owner had even left basic cooking spices like cloves and salt and pepper as well as coffee, filters and other necessities.
Van der Valk, a well known hotel company from Holland, owns the 70 homes in the rental program and many of the owners are Dutch or European. When we arrived we found an amazing array of essential food supplies waiting in the fridge and on the counter, a service offered to all the company's guests. Thing like small containers of peanut butter, candy, snacks, cheese, packaged meats, eggs, milk, juice, bread — even water, soft drinks and beer. Jessica, the very efficient manager explained as many of their guests arrive after a long overseas flight, they welcome having such things in their home so they don't have to run out immediately to the store. There is an excellent on-site restaurant where you should be sure to order the lobster bisque soup. You can also use the Ports & Wellness Center at Citrus Hills, a truly beautiful facility. And did we mention, Van der Valk has an arrangement with nine golf courses in the area including one on site —good courses too like Sea View and Juliette Falls. We played several. Guests get free golf. All they have to do is pay the cart fee. Rates start at $99 per night for everything. It's one of the best values we've found in Florida. Sweet. Don't look for a whole lot of nightlife. This is a place to play golf, kick back and enjoy the parks and nearby beaches.

4 feb 2013 We stayed in this gorgeous villa for 10 days over Xmas and New Years 2012. It's spacious and beautifully decorated and very clean. Everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay is provided. Loved the screened in pool and hot tub. Spent most days hanging out in the sun on the lanai. It was exactly what we were looking for and wanted for a total relax vacation! Would definitely recommend!
