Manatee Tour

Manatee Tour

Share the waters with one of mother nature`s most amazing creatures, the Florida Manatee. Come face-to-face with these gentil giants while snorkeling. The springs flow at a constant 72 degrees, making the waters attractive to the sea cow even in the winter. Crystal River is known for being one of the few places in the world where this interaction is allowed, making it such a rare and special experience; for most, a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Gator World

Gator World

It`s a unique feature that combines the visual excitement of a live gator encounter with the experience of contacting a member of one of the oldest reptilian species nature has to offer. To be sure, it will look like the chaos of a feeding frenzy, but it`s not unlike how young gators live in the wild. Visitors also can spend time in GatorWorld Parks` petting zoo, where a collection of small and cuddly animals await the attention of visitors. Of course, there will be opportunities to feed and interact with the goats and sheep and, as an added attraction, a visit to the "Bunny House" makes it possible to hold a live (and very friendly) rabbit. Other activities designed to make the GatorWorld Parks of Florida experience complete include being able to hold a gator (safely, of course) and to have a souvenir photo taken with the Parks` own "Big A" -a giant gator just waiting to make your acquaintance.

Ellie Schiller State Park

Ellie Schiller State Park

This State Park showcases native Florida wildlife in its 210 acres of land with a 45-foot deep natural spring as its centerpiece. Saltwater and freshwater fish are attracted to these natural springs with their constant, year-round temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit. A floating underwater observatory inside the springs allows visitors to view fish and manatee at close range. Black bears, bobcats, white-tailed deer, American alligators & crocodiles, and river otters make this their home year-round. Several events, educational programs and animal encounters are offered throughout the day on a schedule basis.

Citrus County Hiking Trails

Citrus County Hiking Trails

One of our favorite trails, which we recommend for people who don`t hike very often or who just beginning to get into it, is the Eco-walk Trail on the north side of the Crystal River Preserve. It`s a 2.1-mile loop that goes through a variety of biodomes. You can see such a diversity of Crystal River Preserve: from pine flatwood and oak hammock to marshes and wet prairie. The Inverness - Crystal River area has an abundance of hiking trails. Some in the vicinity of our resort are: Cooter Pond Park - Flying Eagle Preserve - Fort Cooper State Park - Liberty Park - Potts Preserve - Whispering Pines Park - Withlacoochee State Trail

Speedway

Speedway

The facility is a part of the Citrus County Fair Grounds and as such is leased to operate as a speedway. The Fair committee almost didn`t re-lease it when the former promoter walked away about eight months ago. It was their knowledge and trust of the Ray family that caused them to re-think how the land would best be used.
